“Santiago en 100 Palabras” is an annual short story contest in Chile, in which participants write, in 100 words or fewer, about the city of Santiago, its people or an anecdote around daily life in the capital. I was hired to illustrate the winning story, Lionel; the tale of a mall security guard who reflects about his life decisions as he looks out on el mapocho (Santiago´s main river) from a bridge.
